The first permanent building in the U.S. by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, winner of the 2014 Pritzker Architecture Prize, has just opened its doors. Colorado’s Aspen Art Museum, which focuses on contemporary international art, is very much a Ban structure, featuring his trademark attention to simplicity that conveys warmth through materials and colors.
We are looking forward to visiting this. In addition to checking out how the space works as a museum, it’ll be a rare opportunity to enjoy the work of this architectural master without having to purchase international airfare.
