For the architecture aficionado who has ever dreamed of staying overnight in a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home, good news: The fully restored Emil Bach House along Chicago’s lakefront has reopened for business and is available for rental.
Harboe Architects was enlisted for the structural restoration, which included the exterior stucco, the first-floor seasonal porch, masonry, wood trellises, and trim, in addition to replicating art glass windows and installing a geothermal heating and cooling system. The interiors were carefully crafted by Morgante Wilson Architects to preserve the historic integrity of Wright’s original design.
The house is open for vacation and event bookings at an introductory rate of $750 per night; through the summer, tours of the building are also available. Learn more at the Emil Bach House website.
