Just because a building, structure, or space is purely utilitarian doesn’t mean it can’t also be aesthetically pleasing, if seen in the right way. Take sewers, for instance. New Yorker Steve Duncan, an avid urban explorer and photographer, finds amazing beauty in the city’s underground infrastructure. Filmmaker Jon Kasbe joined him on a foray to create A Beautiful Waste, an equally beautiful and compelling 5-minute journey into another world.
