In November 2013, Typhoon Haiyan swept through the central islands of the Philippines. Tragically, over 6,000 people perished and over 1 million homes were destroyed or severely damaged. The people of the Philippines, however, are impressively resilient, and reconstruction started almost immediately. CARE’s team was on the ground within 48 hours to assist with their recovery.
As part of the effort, the team in London worked closely with CARE engineers and community-based teams of carpenters together with other agencies to help develop technical communication materials and guidance. Using Bluebeam Revu allowed the UK-based team to easily comment on the materials being developed, amend the drawings, and ensure that the basic technical messages given to the population were clear and correct.
